I found this recipe in Pinterest and tested it out...it is DELICIOUS!! For the instructions I followed, check out the blog I got it from: <a href="http://www.favfamilyrecipes.com/spaghetti-squash-lasagna.html" target="_blank">Favorite Family Recipes blog</a>. (They originally got it from the <a href="http://www.skinnytaste.com/2013/12/spaghetti-squash-sausage-lasagna-boats.html" target="_blank">Skinny Taste blog</a> where you can also find all of the nutritional content!) I tweaked the recipe some since I was only making two squash boats...</div>

The goal is to memorize 24 scriptures in 12 months - just two a month! I'm very excited for this endeavor because every person chooses a scripture that is meaningful to them in their stage of life and because this will help me to get in the Bible to search the scriptures, to dwell on them and to hide them in my heart. To learn more about this adventure, check out the initial blog post from Beth Moore: http://blog.lproof.org/2015/01/siesta-scripture-memory-team-2015-verse-1.html<br />

<i><b>"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."</b></i><br />
<i><b>Romans 12:12 NIV </b></i><br />

<br>
This last week I started a regimen of oil that are supposed to help detox your system and flush out fat (will post more about that later...) and in conjunction with the oils cleanse I've been drinking this Green Drink <span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">suggested by my doctor</span>!<br>
<br>
It's so very easy to prepare! I've had one nearly every morning on my way to work this week.<br>
<br>
Here is the recipe:<br>
<br>
1 1/2 frozen bananas<br>
1 cup of grapes (or other fleshy fruit)<br>
2 fistfuls of spinach (or kale, I use both)<br>
1 tsp of milk thistle<br>
1/4 cup of flax seed (I use approx. 1/8 cup of flax seed meal)<br>
1-2 cups of water depending on consistency preference<br>
<br>
This Green Drink is surprisingly delicious and fills me up without having to eat breakfast too! Note, adding blueberries to it is delicious but it turns the drink a brownish purple color! Lol :) <div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhhTRDy7bg30tTBZ4eNy8cTF-9D-3tr6-QXHz8nCgJ0fXQLOc04kW1CXbwImVGfHQqtl6pjnGyeJIga380IdHwWrxmSRCJ_CAqiMS51IsK_UjAy-lFKlty6ijRsjbDvVDkH9HvxoeK-npcv/s640/blogger-image--1898113934.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; This last weekend I spent most of my morning prepping and cooking meals for the week. One of the meals I prepared was one I discovered by throwing together the very few ingredients I had in my kitchen a couple of weeks ago<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">! </span><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">All you need is: </span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">chicken, celery, bell pepper, a can of diced tomatoes, a can of chicken broth and a packet of ranch dressing mix. </span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiM3Z_LLRZX5mAf34bZIUggExP_36KCw7vuFgSyehmiSyvsUolfGBMXNwtra0J7TXiJoHKLD_fWVmKB-CtNm-peC_u70mM4ai-Kc8G1EK7Kyd7xsI-h6jUhK7OHKmh4uRd5EBsMOZ4v76kZ/s640/blogger-image--279647638.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiM3Z_LLRZX5mAf34bZIUggExP_36KCw7vuFgSyehmiSyvsUolfGBMXNwtra0J7TXiJoHKLD_fWVmKB-CtNm-peC_u70mM4ai-Kc8G1EK7Kyd7xsI-h6jUhK7OHKmh4uRd5EBsMOZ4v76kZ/s640/blogger-image--279647638.jpg"></a></div><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I cooked 6 chicken thighs with these ingredients in my crockpot on high for 4 hours. When I was young he read me great books with such fun expressiveness, he hugged me often, and always made me feel loved. He made many sacrifices over the years to be able to provide for his six children while mom stayed home to homeschool us. I'm very grateful that he provided my mom with the opportunity to homeschool. </div><div><br></div><div>Now that I'm an adult, he still makes me feel loved, he's taught me how to manage finances, to plan for the future, to show honor and respect for those who deserve it, to work hard and to always show those you love just how much you care.</div><div><br></div><div>I love that he still tells me "I have confidence in you."</div><div><br></div><div>I believe my dad embodies this verse:</div><div>Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. (Proverbs 22:6 NIV)</div><div><br></div><div>And...</div><div><br></div><div>As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him; (Psalm 103:13 NIV)</div><div><br></div><div>Thank you dad for showing me a small glimpse of our Heavenly Father's compassion. </div><div><br></div><div>This is me and my daddy at the family's long standing vacation location walking arm in arm...lots of wonderful memories have been made in that small town in Texas. :)</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisppbM38ln9AlObvIsM3pQNNMPjSkz5guRoesasJnuwsxov7k4qz5E23mFW9WwBjPoFtPHAFXTYOiuK4uVdFpS2Ac_ju5mphUI7n_zrLNrFqJ5UJ8FCCWQRkSZvPMBwL1pXm4MlmE1NM5S/s640/blogger-image--427427598.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEisppbM38ln9AlObvIsM3pQNNMPjSkz5guRoesasJnuwsxov7k4qz5E23mFW9WwBjPoFtPHAFXTYOiuK4uVdFpS2Ac_ju5mphUI7n_zrLNrFqJ5UJ8FCCWQRkSZvPMBwL1pXm4MlmE1NM5S/s640/blogger-image--427427598.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Katherinehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02477522199118491346noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6814619596812997989.post-65416619485244277822014-06-07T19:06:00.001-05:002014-06-07T19:06:28.738-05:00Hello yellow!I just looooove the color yellow! <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is how I spent my late morning/early afternoon today...preparing breakfast for the week! Jesse and I are on a low carb diet right now. He's competing at work in a Biggest Loser contest, so we're going low carb! :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Since I ended up cooking this mixture almost every other night this week, I decided to avoid having that happen again by cooking a LOT in one setting so we can eat it every morning this next week! By a lot, I mean 4 times the recipe! See the final product below.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This recipe comes from our friend Cole, who is also on a low carb diet. Thank you man!</div>

Last year I wrapped a tomato cage with Christmas lights. This year I took it up a notch by first wrapping the tomato cages with white LED Christmas lights and then wrapping them with Deco Mesh! These are very cheap and beautiful little trees! If you want to make them you can run by your local hardware store to get medium tomato cages and then stop by Hobby Lobby to get the deco mesh. I happened to find mine on sale for 50% off, so for two large rolls of the mesh I paid a little over $10. You can do all sorts of awesome fun with the deco mesh...they come in an assortment of colors (I saw red, purple, green, white, pink, silver...oh and lime green!)<br />
<br />
I had a blast making them and I looooove the dreamy light they create at night...<br />
<br />
..."I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas"...<br />
<br />
Merry Christmas! <br />
<br />
<br />
Note: If you decide to make these...make sure to have a partner to help! I couldn't have done these without my husband!! :) <br />

<b>Ingredients</b>:</div>
<div>
Cooking spray</div>
<div>
1/2 cup diced onion</div>
<div>
1/2 cup diced carrots</div>
<div>
1/4 cup diced celery</div>
<div>
1/2 cup diced apple</div>
<div>
1 teaspoon ground pepper</div>
<div>
1 teaspoon salt</div>
<div>
1 pkg seasoned croutons</div>
<div>
2 large eggs</div>
<div>
1/4 cup water</div>
<div>
3 tablespoons olive oil</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<br />
<div>
<b>Preparation</b>:</div>
<div>
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Beat eggs in a bowl and then pour package of croutons into the same bowl. Add 1/4 cup of water and mix, then set aside. </div>
<div>
Meanwhile, heat a nonstick skilled with 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Add onion, carrots, celery, apple, pepper and salt; cook 10 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally. Add diced apple; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Add this apple mixture to the bowl with the croutons and mix it all together; set aside.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Okay, I'm not going to try to explain how to cut the pork loin...you should watch this video on youtube! (<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2eCpL6cj7Rw&feature=related">Stuffed Pork Loin Recipe: How to Prep Meat for Stuffed Pork Loin</a>) I watched all the videos on the stuffed pork loin that I could find from the company that posted this video to learn now to to this recipe! You may do the same! (I've changed up the recipe just a little, but it does help to see it done rather than just read it!)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Sprinkle salt on the cut pork loin. Spread stuffing over pork, leaving a 1/2-inch margin around edges. Roll up pork, jelly-roll fashion, starting with a long side. Secure at 2-inch intervals with twine. You can also watch how to tie the twine near the end of the video linked above. If you don't have twine, you can use skewers to poke through the meat and hold it in place. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Place stuffed pork loin into a pan coated with cooking spray, opening side down. Bake at 450 degrees for 20 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake additional 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a thermometer registers 155 degrees. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Remove and let pork stand about 10 minutes. Slice pork into 1/2-inch-thick slices and serve. Makes anywhere from 8-10 servings.</div>

<br /></p><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; ">About two years ago I tried out "blogging" and I had problems deciding what to write about, sometimes it was too personal and other times too general or I just rambled on and on...so I slacked off, honestly I just quit blogging all together. However I've always had the desire to start blogging again.</p><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; ">
<br /></p><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; ">So, here I am...now blogging about food! I've now been married for a little over a year and have discovered that I can actually cook! I'm no chef or connoisseur of the culinary arts...however I do love food and that's what drives me to try new things and to try to experiment.</p><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; ">
<br /></p><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; ">If you know me, you'll know that I am a confident person...however when it comes to preparing something, especially food, I almost start shaking in my boots! In the past I procrastinated on many different things like projects for school, baking cookies for a bake sale, doing math problems or cooking dinners, just to name a few things. I now realize the reason I did that is because I was scared. I was scared to start something because I worried the end result wouldn't be good enough.</p><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; ">
<br /></p><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; ">Cooking has helped me to discover that it's okay if you mess something up, you can try again until you get it right!! You might eat a few not-so-great meals and you may even have to throw out a few things, but these are great learning experiences. I cannot say I've completely kicked my procrastinating habit...however I am getting better than I used to be. Plus it helps that food tastes so good that you almost always have a great end to the project! :) I'd much rather enjoy a yummy meal than know I got a math problem correct!</p><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; ">
<br /></p><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; ">This blog will mostly be recipes & my photos of these recipes. If you have anything to say regarding these recipes, have tried a similar recipe and would like to share your thoughts or would like me to try a recipe, please feel free to comment on the blog.</p><p style="margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 16px; ">
